Sandra Hoffer It's going to be in the 80's today - too warm for November! In fact, no really cool weather in sight. I hate Texas.

What does everybody else love but you don’t? 8 Replies

Okay, everybody (well, almost everybody) loves the bright, sunny sunshine… well, all but us 1% or less, so I started wondering what OTHER things everybody loves, but I/we don’t? It seems like every...

We got a light dusting of snow that has stayed for over a week now. Snow this early is uncommon for us and snow this early that stays is really unusual. The worst of it is that cold weather came qu...

First Frost in Tulsa this morning.

Frost on car windows this morning. I got out of bed easier than I have since early May. We have had a lot of cloudy rainy days this month and last month. 8 inches of rain last month and 5 this month. I love it!! Everyone else is complaining about early fall here, but not me and I tell them it is great and they roll their eyes. Got to get to work. Happy Halloween everyone.

i was thinking that this forum feels important to me all the year round - oviously in the spring summer ( trying not to think that there is only 2 months before january when the light starts to return..) but autumn and winter i miss being able to share the joy i feel at this time of year..most people now are starting to look upset that its cold and looking at me with shear disbelief that im loving the foggy damp days - i had a glorious moment this week when i had this clicked in feeling of utter… Continue

SNOW!

I woke up to snow this a.m. and am amazed at the affect the sight of it has had on my emotions. Suddenly I feel hopeful - excited! Having "discovered" there is a name for what I go through every Summer, like everyone else here I'm more aware of my reaction to the weather, so the sudden leap of joy in my chest just about knocked me off my feet! The SAD seems to be dragging its feet leaving and I've begun to think that, for me, there should be no seasonal name in front of it...it feels like it's g… Continue

Long time no post..LOL

Weather finally getting cooler here in NM but still BLINDING SUN EVERY DAY.

The cooler temps have helped my mood, but the sun still in my face every day. Yay, the days are getting shorter so I can enjoy the nightime. Went on a moonlight hike at the state park today. So much fun. Full moon and smores at the end:) I would have snapped a pic but camera batteries dead..

Our only tree that changes colors, the Cottonwoods are turning. Still miss beautiful new England. When does this blasted Daylight… Continue

Bittersweet.

The temperatures have definitely improved....'become cooler'....and the leaves are adorned in their splendor and I feel great......and......miserable. Great, because of the reasons mentioned above and miserable because when I feel this good I realize how crappy and out of sorts I have felt for the past 4ish months. When you feel amiss for such an extended period you forget what its like to feel good, energetic, optimistic, social, functional etc etc etc. I could weep and jump for joy all at the… Continue

Last one...

This weekend is our "Goose Festival" You know, every town has some sort of thing they celebrate. For us, the geese are migrating and so there are thousands of them that stop on their way to their southern homes and the hunters get giddy. There is the usual parade and outdoor activities for kids and hamburgers being sold to raise money for this or that and in case I was tempted to enjoy any of it.....WE ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE RECORD BREAKING TEMPS. THIS WEEKEND. I only have one more heat tolerant w… Continue
